Super Size Me Movie Review
If you want to know anything about fast food and the health effects it can have on your body, Super Size Me is definitely the movie to watch. They show Morgan Spirlock, a normal healthy guy and the effects McDonald's has on his body over the course of a month on a solely McDonald's diet. It was smart that Morgan used doctors, nutritionists and an exercise physiologist, without this he may not have been able to keep track of all of the effects, plus if something went wrong people would have no idea why a very healthy 30 year old was suddenly very unhealthy and at risk for heart failure. I thought it was very interesting how it has become an epidemic throughout america. Fast-food and overweight people are continuing to grow to an unhealthy point, so much so that 95 out of 100 nutritionists agree its an epidemic. For me, it makes me want to watch my own weight eventhough i am not considered obese at this point in my life, i do want to be very aware now and make sure i will not fall into that category at any point in the future. I commend Morgan for taking the time and risking his health to show America exactly what fast food can do to your body and how important it is to take action and not just blame everything on the fast food industry.

Can you live on minimum wage?
I'm from Danvers, Mass. A smaller town within commuting distance from Boston. We have a good public school system along with two private schools and there is a wide range of classes in our town, anywhere from working class to middle upper. Therefore its not too hard to find a decently priced apartment with the town. Minimum wage in a Massachusetts is $7.50 per hour.
Multiply $7.50 times 40 hours a week, assuming I would be working full time. That is still only $330 per week and $1320 for the month. Rent prices for a one bedroom apartment in Danvers are approximately $900 without utilities. About $1000 a month in total. That would leave me with $320 for the month. Approximately $40 a week to eat groceries, considering i would want to eat healthy. That leaves $160 for other expenses including a car. Danvers does not have an adequate public transportation system to rely it for getting places.
Now if you split a bigger one or two bedroom apt with a roommate you would probably only have to pay $600 a month, maybe less. leaving almost an extra $400 for a car and other expenses. That includes plenty for insurance and other expenses. This would be the only option for living off minimum wage in my town.

Hi everyone!
My name is Jacqueline Eldridge, I'm from Danvers, Mass. Danvers is only about 30 minutes north of here so it's not too bad to get home when i need to, although i don't intend on going very much. I'm not actually a freshmen although i am in freshmen english. I'm a transfer from the University of Connecticut, and i'm suppose to be a junior. Although here at Wentowrth i'm part way through my sophomore year in the management program. I'm 20 years old and I was born in Lakewood, CA. I moved to Danvers when i was six years old and i've been there ever since. i have one brother and sister, both younger. I'm a first generation college student in my family and excited to be here. My hobbies include horesback riding, skiing, snowboarding, hanging out with friends, and as much traveling as possible. Last semester I spent my time in Australia where I studied at the University of New South Whales in Sydney. My time there was amazing, my apartment was two minutes from the beach and my classes were definitely on the easier side. I couldn't have asked for anything more. Hopefully everything will go okay this year and i'm excited to be here and meet new people!

I chose this blog because I like learning about the different random things going on around the world, it's interesting finding out about a new underground tunnel in Jerusalem or the world's longest escalator. Random facts are fun.

I love hearing about the Red Sox and watchign them on tv, but because of class and work it makes it hard to watch all the games. Therefore this blog would be an excellent way to stay updated on their progress.

I think it's interesting to hear about the prospective of another student at Wentworth. Eventhough they are not my major it's intersting to see how other people at the school are dealing with the work load and classes at the start of a new semester, especially with em being a transfer.
